Wiring diagrams Introduction to the Holden Commodore The Holden Commodores discussed in this book are available in four door sedan, utility and wagon body styles. They are available with 5.0L V8 engines and 3.8L V6 engines. Both engines are covered in thiS manual. All years use conventional front-engine, rear wheel drive configurations. All models have multi-port fuel injection.

A five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic transmission drives the rear axle. On some models, a conventional solid rear axle is used. It has coil springs, a Panhard bar and four trailing arms. Independent rear suspension is used on other models. The individually-sprung rear wheels are driven by two axleshafts from the solid-mounted final-drive unit. The front end has independent suspension with MacPherson struts. Rack and pinion steering is used with power assist.

Disc brakes are used on the front and the rear. Other Details.
