It's free to join. Go to the Home Manager column and choose Owner's Manuals from the drop down menu. You can type in the brand name (Kenmore) and model number of your machine. Not all of them are in there but, I did find the one for the 1950280 question. It's a pdf file.

For the 38516764 question, please double check your model number. I received either no response or a Kenmore Elite dishwasher manual in response to my query.

If you haven't completed the basic troubleshooting described in your, I recommend that you check those issues first. If it's been a while since you changed the needle, I recommend that you replace the needle. A bent or worn needle can fail to pick up the bobbin thread. Check your threading and thread tensions. If the basic troubleshooting doesn't help, then you'll probably need to adjust the timing. Timing adjustment is typically performed by a service technician.

Sears sends the sewing machines to a central repair facility where qualified sewing machine technicians complete the repairs. I'm confident that Sears can fix the sewing machine if the parts are available. There are a few parts for that sewing machine that are no longer available. The parts that are likely causing your problem appear to still be available. If the control won't power up, then you could have a problem with the transistor (which is still available as a replacement part).

It's probably worth it to pay the minimum charge and have the machine examined for repair. I recommend that you take the sewing machine to your local Sears store or repair center.
